Sam Francis Schreck (born January 29, 1999 in Pinneberg ) is a German football player . In his youth he played for various clubs in Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg . From 2016 to 2018 was active in the A-youth and in the 2018/19 season for the professional team of Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen . Since the 2019/20 season , the squad of the Dutch first division club FC Groningen .

Career

Sam Schreck began in the youth of the Schleswig-Holstein TuS Appen near Hamburg . In 2006 he came to the southern Hanseatic city for the first time and joined the youth team of Hamburger SV . In 2010 he returned to TuS Appen , but stayed there for only one year. He then switched to the youth team at Kummerfelder SV . In 2013 he went to Hamburg again, this time to FC St. Pauli . For the 2016/17 season he switched to the A-youth team of Bundesliga club Bayer 04 Leverkusen .

For the 2018/19 season , Schreck was added to the first team's squad. In the team's first competitive game this season, the DFB Cup game at 1. CfR Pforzheim on August 18, 2018, he was part of the 18-man squad, but was not used. By October of that year he was called up to the squad six more times. He made his debut in professional football on November 29, 2018 in the Europa League in the home game against Ludogorez Razgrad . He was substituted for Kai Havertz after 73 minutes of play at 1-1 .

On June 28, 2019, the Dutch first division club FC Groningen announced the change of Schreck for the 2019/20 season . He signed a three-year contract there until June 2023.
