Nicklas Strunck Jakobsen (born August 17, 1999 in Ølstykke ) is a Danish football player . He plays in the position of central midfielder and is under contract with FC Groningen in the Netherlands . He is also a young national player in Denmark.

Career

Nicklas Strunck Jakobsen started playing football in his native Ølstykke, 35 kilometers northwest of Copenhagen, when he joined Ølstykke Boldklub. He later moved into about 6 kilometers away Stenløse to Stenløse Boldklub before Frederikssund Boldklub, about 15 kilometers from Jakobsen previous workplace away, joined. In 2014 he moved to Farum , around 24 kilometers away , where he joined the football school of the first division club FC Nordsjælland , and in 2016 he was named the best U17 player in Denmark. On February 16, 2018, Nicklas Strunck Jakobsen made his debut in the Superliga (Danish Superligæn ) at the age of 18 when he came on for Mikkel Damsgaard shortly before the end of the 2-1 home win against Odense BK . For the professional team, he came to 2 missions in the regular season and 4 in the championship round. At the end of the season, FC Nordsjælland qualified for the 2018/19 UEFA Europa League , when the club, which was formed in 2003 through a merger of smaller clubs from the area, was eliminated in the third qualifying round against Partizan Belgrade . Jakobsen was used in all games in the qualification. On July 29, 2018, he scored his first adult goal in a 3-0 home win in the league against Vendsyssel FF . In the professional team, which qualified again for the championship round, but could not build on the previous season, Nicklas Strunck Jakobsen got more playing time, but he was not the undisputed regular player.

National team

Nicklas Strunck Jakobsen played 7 games for the Danish U17 national team from 2014 to 2015 and 17 games for the U17 team from 2015 to 2016 . With this he took part in the U-17 European Football Championship 2016 in Azerbaijan , where the Danish team was eliminated after the group stage. Nicklas Strunck Jakobsen was used in all three games. He then played for the U18 national team from 2016 to 2017 , where Jakobsen played five games. From 2017 to 2018 he played as many games for the U19 national team . From 2018 to 2019 Nicklas Strunck Jakobsen was the U20 national team player in his country of birth and made three appearances for this age group.
