Lee Choon-hee (born November 6, 1955 in Gochang , Jeollabuk-do ) is a South Korean politician of the Deobureo-minju party , who has been mayor of Sejong since July 1, 2014 .
Career
Lee studied public administration at Korea University . He then graduated from Seoul National University with a master's degree . He then completed a special program in urban and regional planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed his PhD in urban planning at Hanyang University .
In President Roh Moo-hyun's administration , Lee was Vice Minister for Construction and Infrastructure. On July 1, 2014, he became mayor of Sejong City. In 2018, Lee was confirmed in office with 71.8% of the vote.
