The FV 09 Breidenbach eV is a German football club based in the Hessian community Breidenbach in the district of Marburg-Biedenkopf .
history
Founded until World War II
The club was founded in late summer 1909 as the Adler Breidenbach football club . After ten years it took its current name. At the end of the 1936/37 season it was possible for the group north to qualify for the promotion round to the then first-class Gauliga Hessen . There it was 8: 4 only for second place behind BC Sport Kassel , which should not be enough for promotion. The same thing happened again after the 1938/39 season in which, however, with 3: 9 points, they only landed fourth and last place. Due to the outbreak of the Second World War, however, it was no longer possible to build on these sporting successes due to a lack of players.
post war period
After the game operations could be resumed in 1946, the team rose to the 1946/47 season in the then second-rate Landesliga Hessen . With 21:23 points, the club placed seventh in the Marburg group at the end of the season . Since the league became single-track for the next season, almost all clubs in the group, as well as the FV, had to relegate. After a few years of inconsistency, however, after the 1952/53 season the promotion to the Marburg-Gießen district league was perfect. For the 1967/68 season , he was even promoted to the Hessen League . At the same time it was possible to win the Hessen Cup for the first time . At the end of the season, however, the FV had to relegate directly back to 15th place with 23:41 points.
Current time
In the 2003/04 season, the club played in the regional league Gießen / Marburg and placed here in 13th place with 44 points. After the 2004/05 season, the team then had to relegate with 30 points over 19th and last place in the district league Gießen / Marburg. With 72 points, however, they managed to take second place and thus immediate promotion to the now group league. With 59 points, the club then placed third at the end of the 2008/09 season, which entitles them to participate in the promotion relegation to the Hessen Association League. With two draws, only the middle second place succeeded, but this is enough and the team was allowed to move up to the association league for the next season. The first season here ended with 39 points in 15th place, which meant that the FV had to take part in the relegation again. At the end of this round, all clubs had collected three points each, but due to the poor goal difference it was not enough for the Breidenbachers and they went back to the group league. After the 2010/11 season, however, it should finally be enough for renewed promotion. Since then, the team has played in the association league without interruption until today.
