The Vendsyssel Forenede Fodboldklubber are a Danish football club from Hjørring in the Nordjylland region , which has been playing since 2013 with a license from the local club Hjørring IF . The name refers to the North Jutian landscape Vendsyssel .
history
The Hjørring Fodboldklub was founded in 1892 as a merger of the Hjørring Gymnastikforening and the Hjørring Kricketklub . In 1919, Hjørring FC and Hjørring Sportsklub merged to form Hjørring forenede Sportsklubber , which in 1921 became Hjørring Idrætsforening (Hjørring IF) . On July 1, 2006, the first team of the football department under the name FC Hjørring was spun off from the entire club.
At the end of the 2009/10 season, FC Hjørring made it to the second highest Danish league, the 1st division, for the first time in the club's history . In May 2013, the Danish Football Association announced that Hjørring would not receive a license for the 2013-14 season for economic reasons. Then the FC Hjørring took over the license from Hjørring IF for the 1st division. On June 24, 2013, the club announced that it would compete for the new season under the name Vendsyssel FF as a cooperation between the clubs Hjørring IF and Frederikshavn fI . On March 3, 2014, Frederikshavn announced that they only wanted to continue the cooperation in the youth sector.
In the 2016/17 season , Vendsyssel FF reached the play-off games for promotion to the Superleague by finishing second , but failed with 0-0 and 1-2 on the 10th of the Superleague , AC Horsens .
