The HB Køge A / S is a Danish football club in Herfølge near Køge . The club was created in July 2009 from the merger of Herfølge BK and Køge BK .

Herfølge BK
Herfølge BK, founded in 1921, played a total of 16 seasons in the highest Danish league and won the national championship title in 2000. In the following year, the club was relegated to the second division, but was able to return to the first division in 2003. After relegation in 2005, the team established itself in the second division.
Køge Boldklub
The Køge Boldklub, founded in 1927, belonged to a total of 34 seasons in the Danish elite series between 1940 and 2004, when they were relegated. In 1954, the team became the first club outside of Copenhagen to win the Danish championship. In 1975 the team repeated the triumph. From 2003 the team played in the front area of the second division and just missed promotion several times. As a result, the club ran into financial difficulties. In October 2008 bankruptcy could still be avoided, in February of the following year he was insolvent. Thereupon the Dansk Boldspil Union sentenced the club to relegation to the third class Sjællandsserien .
HB Køge
For a long time, negotiations between the two clubs about a merger of the professional teams, which dragged on, especially because of the financial problems of the Køge Boldklub. Less than two weeks after Køge Boldklub filed for bankruptcy, the two clubs agreed to work together. HB Køge was founded on July 1st, 2009. The fusion club took part in the 2009/10 season in the Superliga , but rose and played in the 1st division in the 2010/11 season . The season ended with second place behind Aarhus GF and the direct promotion after a 4-3 win in the last game of the round at FC Fyn , which had to relegate to the third division. However, you had to relegate back to the 1st division after only one season as bottom of the table. In preparation for the 2012/13 season, you set up your training camp in Vogtland. a. they won against the regional league club VFC Plauen 2-0.
As part of the training camp for the 2013/14 season, a game against RB Leipzig (3rd division) took place in Naunhof, not far from Leipzig, on July 10, 2013 , which was won 1-0.
