Société des Missions-Étrangères
The Société des emission Étrangères ( Lat. : Societas per missionibus exteris Provinciae Quebecensis , Order abbreviation : PME ) is a Roman Catholic congregation .
The order was founded on February 2, 1921 by the bishops of the ecclesiastical province of Québec and recognized on June 15, 1929 by Pope Pius X as a society of apostolic life . The head office is in Laval on the island of Île Jésus in the Saint Lawrence River in the province of Québec near Montreal .
