The Nupskammen ( Norwegian for summit ridge ) is a mountain range of jagged mountain peaks in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . It rises north of the Von Essenskarvet mountain in Gjelsvikfjella .
Aerial photographs of this mountain ridge were first taken during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers gave it a descriptive name and mapped it on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs of the Norwegian-British-Swedish Antarctic Expedition (1949–1952) and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
