Haveluy Town Hall

Haveluy is a French municipality with 3174 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Valenciennes and the canton of Aulnoy-lez-Valenciennes . The inhabitants are called Haveluynois .

geography

Haveluy is about eight kilometers west of Valenciennes . Haveluy is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Wallers in the north and west, Bellaing in the northeast, Oisy in the east and Denain in the south.

history

In the meantime, the coal seams were mined from the middle of the 19th century. In 1954 the last mine was closed.
