geography
Wavrechain-sous-Denain is about eight kilometers west-southwest of Valenciennes . The canalized Scheldt (French: Escaut ) runs along the southern border of the municipality . Wavrechain-sous-Denain is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Oisy in the north, Hérin in the northeast, Rouvignies in the east, Haulchin in the south and Denain in the west.
