Brillon is a French municipality with 738 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . Administratively, the municipality is assigned to the arrondissement of Valenciennes ; it belongs to the canton of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux (until 2015: canton of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux-Rive gauche ).

Brillon is located in French Flanders near the Belgian border, about 10 kilometers northwest of Valenciennes and about 25 kilometers southeast of Lille . Brillon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sars-et-Rosières in the north, Rosult in the northeast, Bousignies in the east and Tilloy-lez-Marchiennes in the south and west.
