Bruille-Saint-Amand (also: Bruille-Lez-Saint-Amand ) is a French municipality with 1671 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the region of Hauts-de-France in the department of Nord . Administratively, the municipality is assigned to the arrondissement of Valenciennes and is part of the canton of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux (until 2015: canton of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux-Rive droite ). The inhabitants are called Bruillois .
geography
Bruille-Saint-Amand is located in French Flanders near the Belgian border and on the canalized Scheldt , which forms the northeastern municipal boundary, twelve kilometers north-northwest of Valenciennes .
Bruille-Saint-Amand is part of the Scarpe-Schelde Regional Nature Park (French: Parc naturel régional Scarpe-Escaut ) and is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Flines-lès-Mortagne in the north, Hergnies in the east and northeast, Odomez and Escautpont in the southeast, and Raismes to the south, Saint-Amand-les-Eaux to the south-west, Nivelle and Château-l'Abbaye to the west and north-west.
