Lourches lies on the canalized Scheldt . The neighboring communities of Lourches are Escaudain in the north, Denain in the east and northeast, Douchy-les-Mines in the east and southeast, Neuville-sur-Escaut in the south, Bouchain in the southwest and Rœulx in the west.
The A21 autoroute runs along the eastern edge of the municipality .
