Monchaux-sur-Écaillon is a French municipality with 541 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the community association Valenciennes Métropole , for Arrondissement Valenciennes and is part of the Canton of Aulnoy-lez-Valenciennes (2015: Canton Valenciennes-Sud ).
geography
The Écaillon River flows through the municipality, which is about nine kilometers south-southwest of Valenciennes . Monchaux-sur-Écaillon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Thiant in the north and west, Maing in the north and north-east, Quérénaing in the east, Verchain-Maugré in the south and south-east and Haspres in the west and south-west.
