geography
Thivencelle is located about ten kilometers northwest of Valenciennes on the Haine River and its tributary Hogneau , on the edge of the Scarpe-Schelde Regional Nature Park (French: Parc naturel régional Scarpe-Escaut ) near the border with Belgium . Thivencelle is surrounded by the neighboring communities Condé-sur-l'Escaut in the north and west, Saint-Aybert in the north and east, Crespin in the south and south-east and Quarouble in the south and south-west.
