Thivencelle is a French municipality with 846 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Valenciennes and the canton of Marly (until 2015: canton of Condé-sur-l'Escaut ).

geography

Thivencelle is located about ten kilometers northwest of Valenciennes on the Haine River and its tributary Hogneau , on the edge of the Scarpe-Schelde Regional Nature Park (French: Parc naturel régional Scarpe-Escaut ) near the border with Belgium . Thivencelle is surrounded by the neighboring communities Condé-sur-l'Escaut in the north and west, Saint-Aybert in the north and east, Crespin in the south and south-east and Quarouble in the south and south-west.
