Écaillon is a French commune with 1,937 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Douai and the Canton of Aniche . The inhabitants are called Écaillonnais .
geography
Écaillon is located about ten kilometers east-southeast of Douai in the Ostrevent landscape . Écaillon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Pecquencourt in the north, Bruille-lez-Marchiennes in the east, Auberchicourt in the southeast and Masny in the west.
