Annika Bruhns (born August 8, 1966 in Hamburg ) is a German musical artist and actress .

Life

Family and education

Annika Bruhns is the daughter of the journalist Wibke Bruhns (née Klamroth) and the actor Werner Bruhns . She first grew up in Hamburg. From 1980 she lived with her mother and sister in Israel ; her mother worked there as a Middle East correspondent for Stern . From 1980 to 1984 she went to the Anglican School in Jerusalem , where she graduated from high school (German, history). She attended Connecticut College in New London , Connecticut , from 1984 to 1986 . From 1986 to 1988 she completed an acting and musical training at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City . She passed her degree with distinction. She sings in a mezzo-soprano voice .

Engagements as a musical actress

Bruhns has been a musical performer in Germany and Austria since 1988 . She sang u. a. the factory worker / Eponine (as cover) in Les Misérables at the Raimund Theater in Vienna (July 1988 – March 1990). She was engaged as a singer in Deutschlandlied (December 1990–1991) in Cologne in the Sartory halls . She also played Mary in Happy End at the Heilbronn City Theater (December 1990-April 1991), Maria Magdalena in Jesus Christ Superstar at the Schwäbisch Hall open-air theater (July / August 1991), Cristal in the German premiere of the rock opera Starmania at the Essen Aalto Theater (December 1991 – April 1992; inter alia with Uwe Kröger and Paul Kribbe as partners) and her sister Robert Anne in the musical Non (n) sense by Dan Goggin at the Comedy Frankfurt (August – December 1992) and at the Städtebundtheater Hof (November 1992-February 1993).

In 1993 and 1994 she sang the title role in the musical Evita at the Schwäbisch Hall open-air theater . In 1994/1995 she was engaged at the Hamburg Delphi Theater as a second cast for the role of Madame Dindon in the musical La Cage aux Folles . From June to August 1995 she was one of the soloists. a. with Cornelia Drese, Previn Moore, Diana Böge and Glenn Flavin, in the musical revue Die Delphi Dolls . In the summer of 1995 she appeared at the Bad Hersfeld Festival as Miss Kost in the musical Cabaret . She sang the leading role of Isabella in the German-language performances of the musical Gaudí , from 1993 to 1996 in the Euromusic Hall in Alsdorf and from January to June 1998 in the Musical Dome on the banks of the Rhine in Cologne .

From September to December 2000 she played the roles of “Der Tod / Kommissar” in the musical production Falco Meets Amadeus at the Berlin Theater des Westens ; Directed by Elmar Ottenthal . From March to December 2001 she was engaged in the musical Elisabeth at the Colosseum Theater in Essen . There she sang the two roles "Duchess Ludovika / Frau Wolf" as the first cast; she was also alternating the title role. In 2001 and 2002 Bruhns appeared again at the Schwäbisch Hall open-air theater; she again took on the role of Mary Magdalene in Jesus Christ Superstar .

In the 2001/02 season she was engaged as a musical performer at the Staatstheater Kassel for the musical Chess ; she sang the role of Florence. In the 2002/03 season Bruhns had a guest contract for the musical division at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein . She interpreted the role of Anita in the musical West Side Story .

From 2002 Bruhns was continuously engaged at the Hamburg Operettenhaus . She sang the role of single mother Donna in Mamma Mia! (December 2002-March 2007). In January 2003 Bruhns suffered during a Mamma Mia! - Presentation of a serious accident on the stage. She fell into the orchestra pit and sustained a severe lumbar injury. After 6 weeks she was back on stage, only to have to undergo another operation in the fall. In February 2004 she returned to the stage of the Hamburg Operettenhaus. From December 2007 to October 2010 she was then at the Hamburg Operettenhaus as the alternating first cast of the TV presenter Lisa Wartberg in the Udo Jürgens musical I was never seen in New York .

In spring 2010 she went on a tour with Pia Douwes with a musical duo evening under the title "Still Friends". In September 2010 she released her first solo album under the title "Annika", produced and written by Paul Glaser, with modern country music . In August 2014, after an almost four-year break from the stage, she appeared again as a musical artist and actress for the first time.

In 2017 she performed together with Andreas Bieber , Karim Khawatmi and Sabine Mayer as a singer in the Udo-Jürgens-Lieder-Revue Merci Cherie .

Actress and lecturer

At the Bad Gandersheim Cathedral Festival in 2014 she played the role of Marquise de Merteuil in the world premiere of the musical dangerous love affairs by Heiko Lippmann, Christian Doll and Andreas Gäßler. She was also seen as Mother Lovis in the children's play Ronja the Robber's Daughter .

In addition to her main field of activity as a musical performer, Bruhns occasionally also worked as an actress in pure speaking roles. a. in the ZDF television film Clouds on the Horizon (1995) from the Rosamunde Pilcher series. In 2007 she had a major supporting role as the hotel owner and property owner Ms. Hallbach in the television film The Call of the Mountains - Shadows of the Past .

Bruhns worked as a lecturer in the musical department at the Joop van den Ende Academy from 2004 to 2013 and as a lecturer for singing, song and interpretation at the Hamburg School of Entertainment from 2011 to 2013.

Private

She has been married to the Swedish actor, musical performer, singer and songwriter Mickey Petersson since June 2003 . She has a son who was born in 2004.

The camera assistant Katrin Klamroth is her cousin, whose children the actors Louis and Lola are her nephew and her niece 2nd degree.
