Willems ( Flemish : Willem ) is a northern French municipality with 3021 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Lille and is part of the canton of Villeneuve-d'Ascq (until 2015 canton of Lannoy ). The inhabitants are called Willemois .

Willems is right on the border with Belgium . Willems is surrounded by the communities Sailly-lez-Lannoy and Toufflers in the north, the Belgian community Tournai with the district Templeuve in the east, Baisieux in the south, Chéreng in the southwest and Villeneuve-d'Ascq in the west.
