Fournes-en-Weppes is a French commune with 2,220 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Lille and is part of the canton Annœullin (until 2015: canton La Bassée ). The inhabitants are called Fournois .
geography
Fournes-en-Weppes is about 13 kilometers west-southwest of Lille . Fournes-en-Weppes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Maisnil in the north, Beaucamps-Ligny in the northeast, Wavrin in the east and southeast, Sainghin-en-Weppes in the south, Herlies in the west and southwest and Fromelles in the northwest.
The National Route 41 runs through the municipality .
