Wicres ( Flemish : Wijker ) is a French municipality with 498 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Lille and is part of the canton Annœullin (until 2015: canton La Bassée ). The inhabitants are called Wicrois .

geography

Wicres is about 15 kilometers west-southwest of Lille . Wicres is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Herlies in the north and north-west, Fournes-en-Weppes in the north-east, Sainghin-en-Weppes in the east, Marquillies in the south and Illies in the west and south-west.

The National Route 41 runs through the municipality .
