Warneton Town Hall (Mairie)

Warneton ( Flemish : Frans Waasten ) is a French municipality with 239 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Lille and is part of the canton of Armentières (until 2015: canton of Quesnoy-sur-Deûle ). The inhabitants are called Warnetonnois .

geography

Warneton is located about 14 kilometers northwest of Lille an der Leie (French: Lys ), which in its course also forms the northern municipal boundary and at the same time the state border with Belgium . Warneton is surrounded by the neighboring communities Comines-Warneton (Belgium) in the north and west, Comines in the east and Deûlemont in the south.
