Illies ( Illies ) is a French municipality with 1624 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Nord in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the arrondissement of Lille and is part of the canton Annœullin (until 2015: canton La Bassée ). The inhabitants are called Illilois .

geography

Illies is about 18 kilometers southwest of Lille . Illies is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Aubers in the north, Herlies in the east and northeast, Wicres in the east, Marquillies in the southeast, Salomé in the south, La Bassée in the southwest and Lorgies in the west. The National Route 41 runs through the municipality .
