Leforest is a French municipality with 7167 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Pas-de-Calais in the region of Hauts-de-France . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Lens and is the main town ( chef-lieu ) of the canton of Hénin-Beaumont-2 . The inhabitants are called Leforestois .

Leforest is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Thumeries in the north, Moncheaux in the northeast, Raimbeaucourt in the east, Roost-Warendin in the southeast, Auby in the south, Courcelles-lès-Lens in the southwest, Évin-Malmaison in the west and Ostricourt in the northwest.
