Bénifontaine is about six kilometers north of Lens . Bénifontaine is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Hulluch in the north and north-west, Wingles in the north-east, Vendin-le-Vieil in the south and south-east and Loos-en-Gohelle in the west and south-west.

The National Route 47 runs through the municipality . The Lens-Bénifontaine airfield is located here.
