Raymond Augustin Chihiro Satō

Raymond Augustin Chihiro Satō OP ( Japanese ラ イ ム ン ド 佐藤 千 敬 , Raimondo Satō Chihiro ; born March 31, 1926 in Sendai ; † November 12, 2002 ) was Bishop of Sendai .

Life

Raymond Augustin Chihiro Satō joined the Dominican Order and was ordained a priest on April 3, 1959 .

Paul VI appointed him bishop of Sendai on January 24, 1976. The Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Japan , Ippolito Rotoli , donated him episcopal ordination on March 20 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Benedict Takahiko Tomizawa , Bishop of Sapporo , and Petro Arikata Kobayashi , Former Bishop of Sendai.

He resigned from his office on June 19, 1998.
