Between 1968 and 1974 Redman took part in a total of 12 Formula 1 World Championship races. His best result was third place with his Cooper-BRM at the Spanish Grand Prix in 1968 behind Graham Hill and Denis Hulme . Redman achieved a total of eight championship points. A serious accident at the 1968 Belgian Grand Prix forced him to take a break for more than a year.

In his career he contested 268 sports car races. With 54 overall victories in national and international races, he was one of the most successful sports car drivers in motorsport history. In addition to the victories, there were 31 second and 24 third places.
In addition to the races, he worked as an instructor in racing schools and also had an F3000 team. He is the co-editor of an automobile magazine and lives in Florida , USA . He still drives in historic races himself. He runs an International Events marketing agency .
