Grandstands at the Autodromo di Pergusa

The 1000 km race of Pergusa 1975 , also Coppa Florio, Enna-Pergusa , took place on May 18 at the Autodromo di Pergusa and was the sixth round of the sports car world championship of that year.

The race

Even in the early days of motorsport, there was a car race called Coppa Florio . In 1900 Alberto Franchetti won a race near Brescia on a Panhard & Levassor , which in 1905 became the Coppa. From 1914 the event was held on the Grande circuito delle Madonie in Sicily . In 1929 the first phase of this race ended with the victory of Albert Divo in the Bugatti Type 35C .

In 1973 the racing event was resumed and in 1975 received world championship status. The 1,000-km race ended in a superior double victory of the Kauhsen used Alfa Romeo T33 / TT / 12 , with ARTURO MERZARIO and Jochen Mass in the winning car.
