Dijon 800 km race in 1975

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 800 km race of Dijon 1975 , also 800 km Dijon , took place on March 23 at the Circuit de Dijon-Prenois . The race was the third round of the sports car world championship this year.

The race

The race in Dijon in 1975 was the third championship run. The season began at the beginning of February with the Daytona 24-hour race , which Peter Gregg and Hurley Haywood won in a Porsche 911 Carrera RSR . The following 1000 km race in Mugello brought the surprising success of Jean-Pierre Jabouille and Gérard Larrousse in the Alpine-Renault A441 .

In Dijon, where the race distance was shortened by the organizer from 1000 to 800 kilometers, the Willi Kauhsen Racing Team achieved the first success , which now carried out the Alfa Romeo works. Overall victory went to Arturo Merzario and Jacques Laffite in the Alfa Romeo T33 / TT / 12 .
