François Migault (born December 4, 1944 in Le Mans ; † January 29, 2012 ) was a French racing driver . From 1972 to 1975 he took part in a total of 13 Formula 1 Grand Prix.

Career

In 1970 and 1971 Migault started in the French Formula 3 championship for Team Tecno , but did not achieve a victory.

Migault made his first appearance in Formula 1 in 1972 in the British team Connew . His only start to the season was at the British Grand Prix , which was also the only race for the non-competitive racing team from Greater London .

After an unsuccessful year in the Formula 2 at the French team pygmée he contested the 1974 season except for a few race again in Formula 1 for the traditional racing team BRM Again could Migault not achieve championship points and had to settle for 14th place in the Grand Prix satisfied by France as the best season and at the same time Formula 1 result of his career.

In 1975 he contested two races for Graham Hills Team Embassy Hill , but not classified in the final result. Before his Formula 1 career was finally over, Migault was registered at the French Grand Prix for Frank Williams Racing Cars and qualified for 24th place on the grid. However, he was unable to start the race due to engine problems during practice.

In 1976 Migault switched back to Formula 2 for the Italian team Osella , his best result of the season was sixth place at the BARC 200 , which gave him a championship point and 17th place overall.

From 1972 to 2002, Migault competed 24 times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans , his best results being second in 1976 and third in 1974 and 1981.
