Jean-Daniel Raulet

Jean-Daniel Raulet (born March 24, 1946 ) is a former French racing car driver .

Career

Jean-Daniel Raulet began his career in touring car racing in the early 1970s. In 1974 he was rated three times in the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race . On a Datsun Cherry 120A he was the driver of three teams, 24th, 26th and 28th in the overall standings. He also competed in Spa in 1975 and 1976 ; 1976 at the wheel of a Fiat 128 . In the same year he also contested a full season in the French Formula Renault championship , which he finished third in the overall standings.

In 1977 he became a works driver at Welter Racing and competed for Gérard Welter's small French sports car team until the end of the 1980s in almost all the races for which the team had registered. From 1977 to 1991 he competed fourteen times in the Le Mans 24-hour race , thirteen of them for Welter Racing. His best placement was eleventh overall in 1980 when he and Max Mamers finished eleventh in the overall standings. His best result in the World Sports Car Championship was sixth overall at the Monza 1000 km race in 1982 , which he drove together with Roger Dorchy and Guy Fréquelin in a World Championship P82 .
