Andy Evans (born June 27, 1951 ) is a retired American racing driver and entrepreneur.

Career

Andy Evans was active with sports cars in the 1980s and 1990s and achieved his greatest successes in US racing series. After his first years in brand cups, he drove in various IMSA series from 1990 onwards. In 1994 he started for Scandia Motorsport in a Ferrari 333SP in the IMSA World Sports Car Championship. He celebrated his first success with partner Fermín Vélez at the 2-hour race in Laguna Seca in 1994.

He won the Sebring 12-hour race twice . In 1995 he won together with Vélez and Eric van de Poele in a Ferrari 333SP. Two years later , Vélez, Yannick Dalmas and Stefan Johansson were his winning team partners. After the 1998 Daytona 24-hour race , Evans ended his racing career.

The wealthy Evans, who held a leading position at Microsoft for many years , was a team owner and investor in addition to his racing activities. In the mid-1990s, he acquired the marketing rights for the IMSA series.
