Ian Harrower (born January 14, 1947 in York ) is a former British car racing driver and racing team owner.

Racing career

Ian Harrower was a sports car driver for more than 25 years . The career began in 1972 in a race for the British Sports Car Championship in Snetterton . Harrower drove a Chevron B8 to eighth place overall (winner Guy Edwards on a Lola T90 ). His last assignment as a driver was at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1990 , where he drove an ADA 02B with partners Jerry Mahony and John Sheldon and had to give up after having driven 164 laps due to a damage to the suspension. In between there were 79 races with four podium finishes and three class wins.

His debut in Le Mans , he gave 1977 . By 1990 there were eight more outings, making Harrower one of the Le Mans starters who competed at least 10 times in this 24-hour race . The best place was the eighth final place and class win in 1986 .

In 1977 he took over ADA Engineering and competed for the team in the sports car world championship . He reached his podium placements in the Angolan sports car series . After a second place in the 6-hour race of New Lisbon in 1973 , he was third overall at this racing event a year later .
