The 1976 Watkins Glen 6 Hours , also 6-Hours Trans-Am and The F-5000, The Glen, Toyota Paces The Races, Watkins Glen Grand Prix Circuit , took place on July 10th in Watkins Glen and was the tenth round of the sports car world championship this year.

The race

With the 6-hour race at Watkins Glen, the group 5 races within the World Sports Car Championship in 1976 continued. After BMW's successes at the Nürburgring and in Zeltweg , Porsche again won in North America . Overall winner was Rolf Stommelen and Manfred Schurti (Schurti won his first world championship race and is the only Liechtenstein motorsport history, which they succeeded) in the plant - Porsche 935 with a lap ahead of the privately entered Porsche 934/5 2.8 of Leo Kinnunen , Toine Hezemans and Egon Evertz .
