The 1976 6-hour race in Dijon , also known as the ACF 6 Hours Dijon , took place on September 4th at the Circuit de Dijon-Prenois and was the twelfth round of the sports car world championship of that year.

The race

The weekend of September 4 and 5, 1976 at the Circuit de Dijon-Prenois had something special to offer: two races of the 1976 World Sports Car Championship within 24 hours. Combining two races on one weekend posed major challenges for some Porsche drivers. Jacky Ickx and Jochen Mass won both races: on Saturday the 6-hour race in a Porsche 935 and on Saturday the 500 km race in a Porsche 936 .

Other drivers who contested both races included Jürgen Barth , Reinhold Joest , Rolf Stommelen , Bob Wollek and Leo Kinnunen .
