Hubert Striebig
Hubert Striebig (born September 5, 1939 ) is a former French automobile racing driver and racing car designer.
Career
Striebig became known as a sports car driver in the 1970s . He began his career as a touring car driver and switched to sports cars in the mid-1970s. Attempts in monoposto sport failed early on. When in 1982 one last attempt to enter the Formula 2 European Championship failed, he continued to compete in sports car races.
In 1974 he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Porsche 911 . His best finish in Le Mans - where he started ten times in total - was the eleventh overall place in 1976 on a Porsche 934 .
In the early 1980s, he began building his own racing cars. Equipped with a 2-liter engine from BMW , he used this car - several times also in Le Mans - under the name Sthemo in sports car races.
