Jacques Alméras

Jacques Alméras (born January 30, 1949 in Montpellier ) is a former French racing driver and racing team owner and the father of Philippe Alméras .
Career
Jacques Alméras competed in touring and sports car races in the 1979s, 1980s and 1990s . The Frenchman also competed in endurance races for two decades. With his brother Jean-Marie - who was almost always one of his team partners - he also ran a racing team that only used Porsche sports cars .
In 1980 he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Porsche 934 . The race ended prematurely after an accident on the 251st lap. His best placement on the Sarthe was 15th overall in 1983, which he achieved together with his brother and Jacques Guillot in a Porsche 930 . Alméras' last time as a driver was at Le Mans in 1994. Like his debut race, his last race there ended prematurely after an accident.
In 1973 he was overall runner-up in the Tour de France for automobiles and in 1978, 1979 and 1980 he won the overall standings in the production car class of the European Hill Climb Championship .
