Silverstone 500km race 1992

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1992 Silverstone 500 km race , also known as the BRDC Empire Trophy (FIA Sportscar World Championship), Silverstone , took place on May 10 at the Silverstone Circuit and was the second round of the World Sports Car Championship of that year.

The race

As in the first race of the season, the 500 km race in Monza , the race distance of 1000 km was halved in Silverstone. Although the organizer received 25 entries, only 11 vehicles took their positions on the grid on race Sunday. After the failure of the two factory Toyota TS010s , Derek Warwick and Yannick Dalmas won the race in the Peugeot 905 Evo 1 . The third-placed Lola T92 / 10 by Stefan Johansson and Jesús Pareja was disqualified after the race because of irregular fuel additives.
