500 km Magny-Cours race 1992

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Peugeot 905 Evo 1 Bis, the last winning car in the history of the World Sports Car Championship

The first 500 km race of Magny-Cours , also SWC 500 km Magny-Cours , took place on October 18, 1992 and was the last race in the history of the World Sports Car Championship .

The race

What started on March 18, 1953 at the Sebring 12-hour race , ended in Magny-Cours in October 1992 . When the winning team Mauro Baldi / Philippe Alliot crossed the finish line in a Peugeot 905, the World Sports Car Championship was finally history. Only eight vehicles, including six Group C racing cars, were at the start, all of which crossed the finish line and were classified. A rarity in a sports car race.
