Mugello 6-hour race in 1980
The 6-hour race of Mugello 1980 , also 6 Ore di Mugello, Mugello , took place on April 13th at the Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello . The race was the fourth round of the sports car world championship this year.
The race
The world championship run in Mugello was the race of the Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo . After the failure of the quickest in qualifying and long leader Osella PA8 of Vittorio Brambilla and Lella Lombardi because of a broken drive shaft of the successful Lancia -Werksmannschaft a double victory. Riccardo Patrese and Eddie Cheever won ahead of their teammates Michele Alboreto / Walter Röhrl . Behind the third-placed Osella PA7 of Gimax and Marcello Gallo was another Beta Monte Carlo, driven by carlo facetti and Martino Finotto as overall fourth place.
