The 6-hour race of Pergusa 1981 , also XXI. Coppa Florio, 6 ore Enna-Pergusa , took place on June 28 at the Autodromo di Pergusa and was the ninth round of this year's sports car world championship .

The race

The Coppa Florio , once so important in Italian sports car racing , which was held for the first time in 1900, had to make do with just 14 starters in 1981. The only sports car located at the start with an engine capacity of over 2 liters, the British had work - Lola T600 , which already for 1982 applicable group C was built -Reglement. Despite some technical problems, this vehicle was far superior to the competition. After 202 laps won Emilio de Villota and Guy Edwards with a lead of two laps on the plant - Osella PA9 of Lella Lombardi and Giorgio Francia .
