Maurizio Micangeli
Maurizio Micangeli (born November 15, 1944 in Rome ) is a former Italian racing driver .
Racing career
Maurizio Micangeli was active as a touring and sports car driver between 1967 and 1987 . He had his first international racing assignment at the 1000 km race in Monza in 1967 , where he retired after a technical defect in the Porsche 904 GTS . His best placement in an international sports car race was third in the 1977 6-hour race in Vallelunga together with Carlo Pietromarchi in the De Tomaso Pantera .
In the late 1980s he drove primarily in the European Touring Car Championship . Here, his best result was third overall at the Donington 500 km race in 1987 . Micangeli competed in the Le Mans 24-hour race three times in his career , but was never able to place.
