6 Hours of Watkins Glen 1978
The 6-hour race of Watkins Glen 1978 , also World Championship 6-Hours including The Trans-Am and The Can-Am for the SCCA Citicorp Can-Am Challenge, The Glen, Toyota Paces The Races, Watkins Glen Grand Prix Circuit , took place on July 8th in Watkins Glen and was the eleventh round of the sports car world championship of this year.
The race
In this world championship race, too, the Porsche 935s were the superior Group 5 cars. The trio Toine Hezemans , John Fitzpatrick and Peter Gregg won the Gelo-Racing-935 with a lead of 30 seconds on Dick Barbour and his teammates Manfred Schurti and Rolf Stommelen .
