Luzay is a French municipality with 635 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Bressuire and the canton Le Val de Thouet (until 2015: canton Saint-Varent ). The inhabitants are called Luzéens .

location

Luzay is located about 24 kilometers northeast of Bressuire and about 55 kilometers northwest of Poitiers in the wine-growing region of Vins du Thouarsais and on the Thouaret . Luzay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Jean-de-Thouars and Missé in the north, Taizé-Maulais in the east, Saint-Varent in the south, Luché-Thouarsais in the west and southwest and Mauzé-Thouarsais in the west and northwest.
