Mauzé-Thouarsais is a commune Déléguée in the French commune of Thouars with 2,148 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The inhabitants are called Mauzéens .

geography

Mauzé-Thouarsais is located about four kilometers west of Thouars in the Anjou wine-growing region . The Argenton River limits the Commune déléguée to the north and north-west. The community of Mauzé-Thouarsais was surrounded by the neighboring communities

history

In 1973 the previously independent municipality of Rigné was attached to the municipality of Mauzé-Thouarsais.

On January 1, 2019, the municipality of Mauzé-Thouarsais was merged with Missé , Sainte-Radegonde and Thouars to form the Commune nouvelle Thouars. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Mauzé-Thouarsais belonged to the Arrondissement Bressuire and was part of the canton of Thouars (until 2015: canton of Thouars-2 ).
