Loretz-d'Argenton is a French commune with 2,655 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Bressuire and the canton of Le Val de Thouet .
It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 through the amalgamation of the previous municipalities Argenton-l'Église and Bouillé-Loretz , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The former municipality of Bagneux , which had been associated with Argenton-l'Église as Commune associée since 1973, also became the Commune déléguée in the new municipality. The administrative headquarters are located in Argenton-l'Église.
