Bretignolles is a French commune of 600 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (2015 Poitou-Charentes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement Bressuire and the Canton of Cerizay . The inhabitants are called Bretignollais .

Bretignolles is about nine kilometers west-northwest of the city center of Bressuire . Bretignolles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Nueil-les-Aubiers in the north, Bressuire in the east, Cirières in the south and Le Pin in the west.
