Brion-près-Thouet is a French municipality with 740 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the arrondissement Bressuire and is part of the canton Le Val de Thouet (until 2015: canton Thouars-2 ). The inhabitants are called Brionnais .

Brion-près-Thouet is about seven kilometers north of Thouars in the Anjou wine region . Brion-près-Thouet is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Martin-de-Sanzay in the north and west, Antoigné in the northeast, Saint-Cyr-la-Lande in the east and Louzy in the south.
