The Canton Thouars-2 was until 2015 a French constituency in Arrondissement Bressuire , in Deux-Sevres and in the region of Poitou-Charentes ; its main place was Thouars . Bernard Paineau ( PS ) was the representative in the General Council of the Department from 1994 to 2015 .

It was on average 73 meters above sea ​​level , between 32 meters in Saint-Martin-de-Sanzay and 120 meters in Mauzé-Thouarsais .

The canton was merged into the new canton of Thouars in 2015 .

The canton consisted of part of the city of Thouars (the total number of inhabitants is indicated; about 5,000 inhabitants live in the canton) and part of the municipality of Argenton-l'Église (only the village of Bagneux was in the canton ; the remaining part was in the canton Argenton-les -Vallées ) and seven other municipalities:
