The District of Saint-Maixent-l'Ecole-2 was until 2015 a French constituency in Arrondissement of Niort , in the Deux-Sevres and in the region of Poitou-Charentes ; its chief town was Saint-Maixent-l'École . Léopold Moreau ( UMP ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Département from 1992 to 2015 .

The canton of Saint-Maixent-l'École-2 had 10,676 inhabitants (2006). It was on average 102 meters above sea level, between 42 meters in Sainte-Néomaye and 191 meters in Exireuil .
