The canton of Sauzé-Vaussais was a French canton in the Arrondissement Niort , in the Deux-Sèvres department and in the Poitou-Charentes region until 2015 ; its main town was Sauzé-Vaussais . Dorick Barillot ( PS ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Département from 2004 to 2015 . The canton Sauzé-Vaussais was 186.12 km² and had 5,627 inhabitants ( as of 1999 ), which corresponded to a population density of around 30 inhabitants per km². It was on average 142 meters above sea ​​level , between 112 and 187 meters. The highest and lowest elevations were in Limalonges .
